Gaither Homecoming Adventure

Thanks to our friends with JoyFM,

we were able to go to the Gaither Homecoming

in Roanoke, Virginia on December 6.

. The lineup included

the Gaither Vocal Band, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Jeff & Sheri Easter, David Phelps, the Isaacs, Mark Lowry, Gordon Mote, Ivan Parker, Janet Paschal, Lynda Randle, Reggie & Ladye Love Smith, Ben Speer, and Kevin Williams.

We arrived 30 minutes before the concert but were diverted to a parking garage miles away.

We had to stand in line out in 30 degree weather for 30 minutes.

We had to cram into a city bus to make the trip to the civic center.

We made it!

The Gaither Vocal Band along with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound on the a capella intro to "Sweet, Sweet Spirit."

Guy Penrod is on a leave of abscence and on this song was replaced by Gordon Mote.

At the intermission,

I asked Josh and Christy if they wanted to stay for the second half : Christmas songs.

At first, they weren't so sure.

Then I told them that they could stay up 'til midnight!

We had to leave a few minutes early to beat the shuttle rush and missed

the finale of David Phelps' "O Holy night." Oh well.

It was a great concert and a lot of fun. Thanks Mike!
