Tonight, Josh and I attended the Opening Night of the
2009 Lynchburg Hillcats, the 'A' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Its a beautiful field that looks out toward the Blue Ridge Mountains.
It was also the professional debut of Pedro Alvarez,
the first round choice of the Pirates and a top rated prospect.
Alvarez got busy early. The pic is from moments before he made a play at third.
He then hit a monster homerun.
In his next at-bat, he hit this RBI shot.
We really enjoyed the game as Lynchburg defeated the Potomac Nationals 6-5.
