September 2009.
Lisa's family are fans of The Andy Griffith Show.
As part of their fall visit, we attended Mayberry Days
in Mt Airy, North Carolina.
The arrived Saturday morning in time for the parade.
Despite the rain, Justin and I (and everybody else) enjoyed ourselves.
We saw many versions of the Mayberry Police car.
... and, of course, folks dressed up as characters like Barney Fife.
There were a few of the secondary actors who come to the annual event.
And some shops that carry the name of the show personnel.
Lauren enjoyed looking through the downtown shops.
... many of which had Andy Griffith window displays.
This was supposed to be a look-alike from Andy's days in Matlock.
I thought he looked more like the late Ted Kennedy than Ben Matlock.
Josh, Christy, Lauren and Justin pose with Ryan and Easton
(and Andy and Opie).
Grandpa Dave and Ryan with show look-alikes.

Sherriff Josh with Deputy Easton.
They even got to take a tour of the town in this old squad car.
A shot of the home where Andy grew up.

It is owned by the man upon whom the character Emmitt is based.
