Dr. Robert E. Whitaker, former President of Hobe Sound Bible College
Dr. Whitaker was one of the first people our family met from Hobe Sound - he was traveling with the 1992 Chapel Quartet at the time. I did not know him well as he was on sabbatical when we arrived in Hobe Sound in 1993. I heard him preach at Hobe Sound Bible Church only once before his resignation in 1994.
I was so glad to hear of his plans to participate in the 50th Anniversary Celebration this past February and was so privileged to attend the festivities. His sermon from that weekend remains available on the Sea Breeze Camp archive.
After serving Hobe Sound Bible College for 30 years, he pastored Grace Community Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
I understand that Dr. Whitaker passed away early this morning of a heart attack. Please keep his wife, family and friends in your prayers.
